The main activity of PK Effects is the development of audio effects for electric guitar.

Each effect uses the ToneCore® technology from Line6®, which guaranties the quality of the material in which our effects are programmed. Besides, I personally take in charge their conception and preparation.

PK Effects springs from a personal project in which I have been working for several years already. Captivated by the sound and architecture of the electric guitar, I first set out to the reproduction of some analogous audio effects. Later on, an increasing interest in the field of sound engineering led me to reproduce certain audible signals through programming among other stuff. Making use of MATLAB as a programming language (the language I knew best as Electronics Engineer), I developed a series of codes (algorithms) which brought me to obtain a sound grounding in programming.

This way, the ToneCore® DSP Developer Kit came as a challenge, and I was determined to succeed at programming it. Finally, after much thought and many "debugging" hours, my first digital audio effect came to life: The RollerShifter. Soon after, a second one came up, which I have called Syn+The+Si+Zer.

One of my purposes now is to continue working in the development of new digital effects, so as the PK Effects family keep growing.

I want to thank all of you who have supported and helped me during the development of this project. Specially, to Inês for her help in translating the site into Portuguese. Finally, I want to thank the woman I love for all her brilliant ideas and for helping me to transform this project into a more interesting one.
